Undergrads: Officially Withdraw From Spring Classes You Have Registered for But Will Not Attend

University policy states that undergraduate students who do not attend the first day of class may be dropped from class rosters at the discretion of the instructors; however, students should not assume that the instructors will drop them from a course if they fail to attend the first day.

Students are responsible for ensuring that they officially withdraw from courses in which they are registered but do not attend.

University policy also requires undergraduate students who are registered for classes to pay their fees and receive grades for them.

For more information call the Office of the Registrar, (651) 962-6700.

Reminders:

  • First-semester, undergraduate freshmen must have the signature of their advisers on the Change in Registration form before the Office of the Registrar can process it.
  • Students on a wait list are not officially enrolled; they must get the signatures of their instructors on a Change in Registration form (which can be found here) and then return the form to the Office of the Registrar in Room 126, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, to officially become enrolled.

Registration sites and times: Undergraduate students may add courses through Friday, Feb. 6, and drop courses through Friday, Feb. 13, by one of the following two methods:

  • Access Murphy Online.
  • Visit the Registrar’s Office from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Room 126, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

For undergraduate students, the last day to drop a course without a notation of “W” on their academic records is Friday, Feb. 13.
