UST hosts silent auction for Listening House of St. Paul Sunday
The University of St. Thomas is hosting a silent auction to benefit the Listening House of St. Paul. The Listening House provides daily hospitality, assistance and counseling to more than 200 people who are homeless, disadvantaged or lonely.
The benefit will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 20, in McNeely Hall, on the corner of Summit and Cleveland avenues.
Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for adults. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Listening House.
The event will include a raffle for a Buddy 125 Series Italia scooter. Raffle tickets will be sold for $10, or three for $25. Tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18, in Room 128, McNeely Hall. Weather permitting, raffle tickets also will be sold during convo hour on Thursday, April 17, in the quad. The winner is responsible for paying registration fees of approximately $125. The drawing will be April 20 during the silent auction; the winner need not be present.
Founded in 1983, Listening House has served homeless people as well as greater downtown St. Paul for 25 years. It is the only facility available to homeless people from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
