Students who are volunteering at a Catholic school this semester and have never attended VIRTUS training can register to attend one of four sessions on campus.
According to its Web site, "VIRTUS is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote 'rightdoing' within religious organizations."
Choose from four sessions this semester:
- Thursday, Oct. 1 – 5-8 p.m. in Room 100, McNeely Hall (limited to 80 participants)
- Monday, Oct. 5 – 3-6 p.m. in Room 155, Murray-Herrick Campus Center (limited to 50 participants)
- Tuesday, Oct. 6 – 5-8 p.m. in Room 155, Murray-Herrick Campus Center (limited to 50 participants)
- Wednesday, Oct. 15 – 4-7 p.m. in Room 155, Murray-Herrick Campus Center (limited to 50 participants)
How to pre-register
Because space is limited for each session, pre-registration is required. Instructions on how to register can be found here (pdf). All VIRTUS sessions are led by trained staff and volunteers from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
VIRTUS training sessions at St. Thomas are co-sponsored by Service-Learning, Tutor-Mentor and CILCE (Center for Intercultural Learning and Community Engagement).
