The Minnesota State Fair is here and St. Thomas is stationed under its signature Arches in the Education Building on Cosgrove Street. Volunteers will greet visitors and share information about the university’s academic programs.
Specific programs and offices will be highlighted each of the 12 days of the fair. Program staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Thursday, Aug. 21: Opus College of Business
Friday, Aug. 22: St. Thomas President Dr. Julie Sullivan will visit the booth
Saturday, Aug. 23: Alumni Association
Sunday, Aug. 24: The St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity
Monday, Aug. 25: School of Social Work
Tuesday, Aug. 26: Undergraduate Admissions
Wednesday, Aug. 27: College of Education, Leadership and Counseling
Thursday, Aug. 28: The Selim Center for Learning in Later Years; The Show’d Up Band, featuring several St. Thomas faculty and staff members, will perform at 10 a.m. and noon.
Friday, Aug. 29: School of Law
Saturday, Aug 30: Departments of Art History and Music
Sunday, Aug. 31: Tommie Pride Day
Monday, Sept. 1: Departments of English and Catholic Studies
In addition to visiting the booth, fair goers can share their St. Thomas state fair experience with their friends on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by snapping photos of themselves with Tommie and sharing them using the hashtag #TommiesAtTheFair.
And as always, one of the state fair’s most popular giveaway items will be available at the St. Thomas booth. Volunteers will hand out 30,000 purple UST tote bags. Giveaways will begin at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the booth early for a chance at getting a tote bag.
