The Luann Dummer Center for Women will host a performance of “Daughters of Africa” by the Mixed Blood Theater's traveling company on Monday, Feb. 8. The play will begin at 7 p.m. in the O'Shaughnseey Educational Center auditorium.
“Daughters of Africa” is a tour de force musical performance encompassing three centuries in the lives of African American women, from a slave woman to Oprah. Featuring songs from Bessie Smith to Aretha Franklin, Lena Horne to Beyoncé, this energetic show commemorates the accomplishments of a greatly underappreciated segment of American society.
