AARC to Offer Summer Memberships, Three Fitness Classes

Looking to maintain – or start – your fitness routine this summer? Then look to the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex on the St. Paul campus of the University of St. Thomas.

Faculty, staff, alumni and community memberships

Spring semester memberships for University of St. Thomas faculty and staff, and alumni and community members will expire on Tuesday, May 31. Summer memberships, which will run from June 1 to Aug. 31, will become available for purchase on the AARC website on Monday, May 23.

Faculty and staff who are medical-benefit eligible can receive their memberships back in full through the wellness rebate. Eligible AARC members must complete the requirement of 12 visits each month to receive this benefit. Log on to the AARC website for more information about this program

Summer fitness classes

Continue burning calories in fitness classes at the AARC this summer.  The AARC will offer three workout classes – spinning, sculpt and  yoga – dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle. Classes are available to all who plan to purchase a summer AARC membership.

Two sessions (eight classes per session) will be offered this summer. Sessions, which run four weeks, cost $50 each. Members may sign up for spinning, sculpt, or yoga. The first session of classes will begin Monday, June 6, and will end Wednesday, June 29. The second session of classes will begin Monday, July 11, and will end Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Spinning demonstration class

Are you interested but uncertain about spinning? A free spinning demonstration class is available to all current AARC members from 12:15 to 1 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18, in the Aerobics Room, Room 113, in the AARC. Show up early and be ready to spin, or just stop in to see what spinning is all about.
