The University of St. Thomas Department of Public Safety posted an advisory Thursday regarding a series of recent bike thefts on campus.
Most of these incidents occurred with bikes that were secured with cable/chain style locks. Public Safety notes that it takes a thief only seconds to cut a cable/chain lock and ride away on a bicycle, and it recommends using hardened U-style locks to secure bicycles to bike racks on campus.
