Bring two of your poems to perform at Poetry Slam #6 on Feb. 16

PSST (Poetry Slam St. Thomas) presents Poetry Slam #6, hosted by national slam poet Matthew Rucker. This event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Scooter’s. Poets sign in from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Admission is free; a $2 or $3 donation is suggested and you may win a door prize. Your donations will help PSST get to nationals in Texas this April.

This poetry slam is open to all UST students, faculty and staff. Bring two pieces to perform; poems must be written by the performer. Poems should be no longer than three minutes. No props, costumes or musical accompaniment is allowed.

Judges, selected from the audience, assign points to the poems. The person with the most points wins cash and other prizes, but the points are not the point; the point is the poetry!
