Camp Darfur sets up on campus Friday

Camp Darfur, an interactive educational event designed to heighten awareness of the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan, will be held Friday, April 30, in the upper quad. (Rain site is Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.)

Camp Darfur will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Five tents will be set up, each representing a different genocide that has occurred throughout history. In addition, an “Action Table” will provide students an opportunity to write letters to legislators or to make a phone call to support an end to the violence.

The event, sponsored by STAND (Student Anti-Genocide Coalition) in cooperation with Stop Genocide Now, is free and open to the public.
