CANCELED: Philosophy colloquia begin Sept. 11

Dr. Thomas Sullivan, who holds the Aquinas Chair in Philosophy and Theology, will speak on "A Disproof of the Principle of the Diffusiveness of Intentions," at a philosophy colloquium Thursday, Sept. 11.

The event will be held at noon in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. Everyone is welcome; the lecture may be of special interest to those interested in ethics and the principle of double effect.

Five-time Teacher of the Year and 1984-85 Professor of the Year at St. Thomas, Sullivan has taught here since 1966. He also has received national teaching awards and is the author of books and articles on logic, metaphysics, Aquinas and ethics.

This is the first lecture in the fall 2008 Philosophy Colloquium Series.
