Welcome back students!
Spring semester is often the time of year when students are thinking about their majors, internships, and other career opportunities. The Career Development Center on the St. Paul campus works primarily with the undergraduate population. As students, you have chosen St. Thomas for many different reasons, including vocational and career preparation. The Career Development Center staff provides information and support for students as they identify and reach their vocational/career goals.
Assistance is available in the following areas:
- General career exploration
- Identification of skills, interests and values
- Understanding career paths and trends
- Connecting careers to majors
- Résumé and cover letter development
- Interview skill building and mock interviews
- Job and internship searches
The career staff is available for classroom presentations upon request. Student clubs and organizations also sponsor many career-related activities annually and work cooperatively with the Career Center to meet student needs. Each year the Career Development Center provided outreach programs to approximately 1,200 students and parents.
The Career Development Center's comprehensive Web site provides students with part-time and full-time job and internship postings.
Other services include drop-in sessions, individual appointments, interest and personality assessments, and workshops. Opportunities for students to make direct contact with employers is facilitated through on-campus interviewing each semester and the Minnesota Private College Job Fair, which takes place each year in February.
