Katharine Hill Named Director of School of Social Work

Dr. Katharine Hill has accepted the offer to become the next director of the School of Social Work. In this capacity, she will have oversight and strategic responsibility for the BSW, MSW and BSW programs. Hill will join the Morrison Family College of Health as the director of the School of Social Work and start her role on July 1, 2020.

Update on Commencement Ceremonies

St. Thomas will not be able to hold this year’s undergraduate, graduate, School of Law and Dougherty Family College (DFC) commencement ceremonies in May as scheduled.

Announcement on Upcoming Auxiliary Services Changes

Looking forward, the university is anticipating significant changes coming in fall 2020. The opening of the new residence halls and the Iversen Center for Faith, the adoption of the campus-wide sustainability plan, and a focus on emergency preparedness all create new opportunities for Auxiliary Services to assess current operations and adjust where warranted.

Update on St. Thomas’ Response to COVID-19

President Julie Sullivan has announced all classes will temporarily move online starting Monday, March 16. No in-person classes will be held until Tuesday, April 14 (students’ first day back from the Easter holiday), at the earliest.

President Julie Sullivan today announced a new strategic planning process that will engage our community in developing our university priorities for the next five years.  Community conversations around “St. Thomas 2025” will begin in January, and your voice is needed to help create the road map for our shared goals.
