The Center for Business Excellence will offer the following five nonprofit programs in January and February. A 33 percent discount is available to UST students and alumni, and a 75 percent discount is available to UST faculty and staff. Mini MBA® for Nonprofit Organizations

Developed by the University of St. Thomas Center for Nonprofit Management, the Mini MBA® for Nonprofit Organizations provides an overview of issues and topics relevant to nonprofit organizations. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed to build success in the nonprofit sector.

Fundraising Certificate Series
Begins Jan. 18, 2008

The Fundraising/Fund Development Certificate Series examines fundraising methods needed to maintain stable organizations. This series will focus on how to find and approach constituents for funding, fundraising skills and methods, and how to budget and collect data for grant writing purposes. These programs may be taken individually or as part of the series.

Mini Master of Nonprofit Finance
Begins Feb. 5, 2008

The Mini Master of Nonprofit Finance is a comprehensive program for successful financial management in the nonprofit sector. This program will permit extensive presentation and discussion of all pertinent aspects of financial management. A significant advantage of this program will be substantial opportunity for each participating nonprofit to have its own financial situation analyzed by the faculty and their peer nonprofit executives.

Institute for Executive Director Leadership
Begins Feb. 8, 2007

The Institute for Executive Director Leadership is a nine-month cohort program offering nonprofit executive directors opportunities to increase leadership skills, enhance organizational collective capacity and take themselves and their organizations to a new level while growing in a supportive community of peers. Grounded in a unique and comprehensive framework, leaders will combine personal and professional growth within the context of their work, explore and advance meaningful leadership practices, and sharpen strategic management skills.

Getting Started
Begins Feb. 11, 2008

Whether you have already incorporated or are still in the preliminary planning stages, Getting Started will provide a framework of essentials for starting a nonprofit organization. Together with your classmates, assess the viability and feasibility of your concept and understand the legal regulations and requirements. Prepare strategy for your future, develop an action plan, and receive resource materials.
