The Center for Business Excellence will offer several programs in January and February. A 33 percent discount is available to UST alumni, and a 75 percent discount is available to UST faculty and staff.

Mini MBA in Family Enterprise

Mondays, Jan. 30 to May 8

The Mini MBA in Family Enterprise provides a practical foundation in parallel planning to optimize both business performance and family relationships. This program will help family businesses move ideas into action and better align family and owner interests with business and marketplace realities.

Mini Master of Real Estate Appraisal

Tuesdays, Jan. 31 to May 16

Developed by the Shenehon Center for Real Estate and brought to you by the Center for Business Excellence, the Mini Master of Real Estate Appraisal provides practical, high-level analytical techniques that can be applied to appraisal report writing and allows participants to expand their appraisal practice into income-producing properties.

This program is approved for real estate and appraisal continuing education credit through the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Appraisal Pre-licensing approval and Board Education Units from the Minnesota State Board of Assessors are pending.

Developed for retail professionals by the Institute for Retailing Excellence, the Mini Master of Retailing Excellence helps retail professionals gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary retailing, action-oriented skills and knowledge that immediately can help them positively influence their organization.

Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate

Mondays, Feb. 6 to May 22

By using Six Sigma quality management tools and techniques, costs and deficiencies in products and processes are reduced, thereby improving customer satisfaction and raising profit. During the Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate program, participants will apply Six Sigma to an existing work project. The average savings per participant completed project has been $178,000.

Institute for Executive Director Leadership

Thursdays and Fridays, Feb. 10 to Nov. 10

In its seventh year, the Institute for Executive Director Leadership is designed for executive directors of nonprofit organizations. Participants will explore and advance meaningful leadership practice, increase management skills and enhance organizational health. The design is grounded in a unique and comprehensive framework that combines personal awareness, professional growth and organizational strengths.

Mini Master of Real Estate Development

Thursdays, Feb. 16 to May 25

Designed with the Shenehon Center for Real Estate, the Mini Master of Real Estate Development meets the needs of individuals seeking a practical and introductory course of study of the major components of real estate development. This program meets the needs of both private and public sector developers, architects, builders, attorneys, and real estate brokers and has direct application to residential, multifamily, mixed-use office, industrial and retail property development.

Three hours of real estate continuing education for each class session has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
