Center for Writing peer consultants can help with writing process

From the Center for Writing

This is an "after-midterm" reminder about the services available as you write your final papers or look to improve your writing for courses. Consider coming to the Center for Writing before you write, as you write and after you write. You'll receive friendly, one-to-one advice from a peer consultant during any stage of the writing process.

Consultants can help you understand an assignment, brainstorm ideas for a paper, and assist you as you organize, focus and revise. Writers working on incorporating and documenting sources are welcome to come learn strategies for editing a final draft.

The Center for Writing is located in Room 361, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. The center's hours are:

  • 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday
  • 9 a.m. to noon Friday

Consultants also are available from 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.

Appointments should be made at least one day before the assignment is due, if possible. To make an appointment, call the center's front desk, (651) 962-5601.

Consultants also are available online. To access the center's online consulting and other resources for all writers, visit the Center for Writing Web page.

For more information, contact Dr. Susan Callaway, director of the Center for Writing and associate professor in the English Department, (651) 962-5602.
