The oxidation of hydrocarbons in the troposphere generates short-lived intermediates, which have a significant impact on atmospheric chemistry. Dr. Keith Kuwata from Macalester College will discuss work he and his students have performed in the areas of quantum chemistry, transition state theory, and RRKM/master equation simulations to make predictions about these species.
Chemistry Seminars are held at 3 p.m. each Friday in Room 251, Owens Science Hall. The UST Department of Chemistry welcomes and encourages all to attend.
