Coadjutor Archbishop Nienstedt to lead monthly prayer session for college-age women and men Sunday

Coadjutor Archbishop John Nienstedt will lead a prayer session for college-age men and women Sunday in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Coadjutor Archbishop
John Nienstedt

The prayer session is called "lectio divina," which is Latin for " divine reading"or "spiritual reading." The session will run from 8 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. Sessions also are scheduled for Dec. 2, and Feb. 3, March 2, April 6 and May 4, 2008. (No January session.)

Lectio divina, according to Nienstedt, is a method of prayer and scriptural reading intended to promote communion with God and to provide spiritual insights. It is a way of praying with Scripture that calls one to ponder, listen and pray from God's word.

A brief reception with refreshments will follow each service. The Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas is located on the eastern edge of the university's St. Paul campus, on Cleveland Avenue near Ashland Avenue.
