Come to Sept. 29 Philosophy Colloquium
St. Thomas faculty members Dr. John Tauer, Psychology Department, and Dr. Michael Winter, Philosophy Department, will discuss "Virtue Theory and Social Psychology" at the first Philosophy Colloquium of the semester from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in O'Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
The colloquium is free and open to the public.
According to Tauer and Winter, it has been argued that results of work by social psychologists in recent decades shows that virtues do not provide an adequate explanation for a significant range of human behavior. What should be said about the results of these experiments? Should virtue theory be abandoned? Come and hear what Tauer and Winter have to say.
