Panel to discuss how communities can help children succeed

The St. Thomas School of Education will conclude its three-part Community Discussion Series with a panel discussion, “Community Organizations That Enhance the Success of Children,” on Wednesday, April 28.

In this session, three community leaders will highlight innovative ways communities can work together to contribute to the success of children.

The speakers are:

  • John Harrington, chief of police, St. Paul
  • Father Kevin McDonough, pastor of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and Sagrado Corozon de Jesus Catholic Church
  • Dr. BraVada Garrett-Akinsanya, executive director, African American Child Wellness Institute

The discussion will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Thornton Auditorium, Terrence Murphy Hall, Minneapolis campus. A reception will follow the program. This event is free and open to the public.
