Delta Sigma Pi updates pledge status

Editor's note: Delta Sigma Pi sends this pledge-process update.

"We are the fall 2009 Pledge Class of Delta Sigma Pi, Nu Tau Chapter, and we are in the fourth week of the pledging process. Delta Sigma Pi is an international professional business fraternity. It encourages scholarship, social activity and further involvement in the business community.

"We have been studying thoroughly the history of the fraternity and learning about its customs and traditions. Over the next month we will be completing a community service event, a social event, host a professional event, and raise funds for ourselves through various fundraisers. Our community service will be working with Second Harvest Heartland, where we will be sorting, packing and relabeling food items.

"We are planning a surprise theme for our social event for the Brothers that is yet to be announced. For our professional event, we are inviting a high executive from the community to speak about his or her experiences. The first of our fundraisers was held Oct. 26. Wish us luck as we embark on our journey to initiation Nov. 21.

"The current pledges are: Kristin Chermak, Brandi Davis, Nicole Franta, Jarrod Hofer, Erin Johnson, John Melin, Parker Olson, Ellen Schaffan, Sommer Smith, Matt St. Martin, Le Vang, Francisco Velasquez and Julie Wollscheid."
