Thanks to the generosity of the UST Beyond Career to Calling office, the first "Design for an Aging Population" retreat was held Feb. 16-18 at St. Thomas' Gainey Conference Center in Owatonna

The retreat, coordinated by Dr. AnnMarie Thomas, School of Engineering, and Dr. Roxanne Prichard, Psychology Department, involved 17 students from 11 majors. Also participating were guests from the eldercare and elder design industry, as well as faculty from the Opus College of Business, School of Social Work, College of Arts and Sciences, and School of Engineering. Activities included lectures, discussions, films, and the chance for student groups to come up with new products for this growing market.

The retreat was the first major project out of Thomas' new Design for an Aging Population laboratory at UST.
