External organizations hold summer camps, conferences on campus

Several external organizations will hold their summer camps and conferences on the university's St. Paul campus this week. They include:

  • Prenatal Partners for Life will hold a benefit banquet Monday, June 14, in the Murray-Herrick Student Dining Room. Featured speaker is former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R.-Pa.). For more information visit  here.
  • St. Paul Preparatory School, formerly known as Nacel International School, will hold its commencement exercises at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
  • For the fourth consecutive year, the Minnesota-based Sounds of Hope Ltd. will make UST its summer home. This organization produces an annual Songs of Hope project for girls and boys from around the globe. More than a summer camp, Songs of Hope joins young people from many countries. For six weeks, communities of young people live and rehearse together to create a music concert that culminates in a nationally recognized concert tour featuring songs and dances from the countries and cultures of the performers.   • Flynn Hall will be home to 150 participants in the annual conference of the National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA), which will be held June 16-19 at  Macalester College.
  • From June 17 to 20, Minnesota Vikings linebacker Ben Leber will host the annual Vikings football camp for youth ages 8 to 18. For more information visit here. 
  • St. Paul Public Schools will host its annual Summer Transition Program beginning on Saturday, June 19, for two weeks. Twenty-five recent high school graduates with vision impairments will lear skills for independent living such as cooking, laundry, using public transportation, computer skills and looking at career choices. They will reside in Flynn Hall until Saturday, July 3.
