Faculty Mentor Travel Grant Program announced

The Undergraduate Research and Collaborative Scholarship (URCS) Program announces the availability of travel grants for faculty who have mentored a student holding a Young Scholars Grant or a Collaborative Inquiry Grant.

The new Faculty Mentor Travel Grant Program acknowledges that in many cases the natural culmination of a faculty-student collaboration under the Young Scholars Program or the Collaborative Inquiry Program is a presentation by the student at a scholarly conference.  In recognition of the faculty member's role as a mentor, and as a way of capping off the faculty-student partnership, the Faculty Mentor Travel Grant Program provides funding (on a limited basis) to support faculty mentors' attendance at conferences where their mentored students will present papers that emerge from collaborations funded by the Young Scholars Grant Program or the Collaborative Inquiry Grant Program.  The maximum award is $700.

The Young Scholars Program supports faculty-student collaborative research during the summer, and the Collaborative Inquiry Grant Program provides funding for faculty-student collaboration during Spring Semester.
