Fall Leadership Institute Invites Program Proposals

All undergraduate UST students are invited to submit a program proposal for the 2011 Fall Leadership Institute (FLI).

The annual FLI is hosted by Campus and Residence Life and provides undergraduate UST students with opportunities to network, learn more about leadership and hear from keynote speakers, staff, faculty and student workshop presenters.

FLI 2011 will be held on the St. Paul campus Aug. 28-30.

Presenters are invited to submit proposals that are directly related to the theme “Be. Do. Act.” Successful program proposals will be innovative, reflect campuswide initiatives or help to prepare UST students to work in a increasingly diverse community. Proposals will be evaluated on quality and clarity of content and the relationship of the proposal to the 2011 FLI theme. Proposals may be submitted by an individual or a group of presenters. (One coordinating presenter should be chosen to submit the proposal in his or her name). All presenters must be listed on the proposal and must agree to participate or present to the FLI Committee for approval.

Program proposals should include:

  • Session purpose.
  • Outline of session goals.
  • Main ideas to be shared.
  • Suggestions on how to put ideas into action on campus.
  • Presentation style (lecture, discussion, audio-visual needs, etc.).
  • Target audience (new or experienced student leaders, club leaders, RAs, etc.).
  • Ideal number of session attendees. (Example: This session can accommodate 20 attendees.)

Submit proposals via e-mail as a Microsoft Word attachment to Nate Peterson, proposal chair. Those submitting FLI proposals will be notified via e-mail about the next steps in the selection process.
