Father Peter Laird to speak tomorrow on meaning of Advent
Advent is a time of vigilance and prayer, awaiting the coming of the Lord and preparing for eternal life. The Advent season, consisting of the four weeks leading up to Christmas, provides an opportunity to lay the foundation for spiritual growth.
Father Peter Laird, vice rector and director of seminarians at the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity of the University of St. Thomas, give a 45-minute talk, "What's Up With This Whole Advent Thing?" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in O'Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
Hot chocolate and cookies, sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Government, will be served.
