Former ambassador from France to speak on 'Free Trade, Market Economy and Globalization'
The Alliance Française of Minneapolis-St Paul presents a luncheon conference with Jacques Andréani, former ambassador to the United States from France, who will speak on "Free Trade, Market Economy and Globalization." His U.S. speaking tour is in celebration of the current French presidency of the European Union.

The luncheon conference will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the Rogge- Leyden Room, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
The cost is $30 for Alliance Française, French American Chamber of Commerce members, and UST faculty and students; the cost is $40 for nonmembers.

Ambassador to Washington from 1989 to 1995 under François Mitterrand, Andréani also has served France in Moscow, Rome and Cairo. He is commander of the Légion d'Honneur and commander of the Ordre National du Mérite. He also has published L'Amérique et nous (Odile Jacob, 2000) and Le Piège: Helsinki et la chute du communisme (Odile Jacob, 2005).
