Please remember in your prayers Graduate School of Professional Psychology student Steven T. Flucas, who passed away May 13. Flucas was 59 years old.
Flucas is survived by his father, J.C. Flucas; mother, Annie-Lee (Fisher) Flucas; brother, Jeffery Flucas; his children, Gabreille (Mark) Cigich and granddaughter Lenore, Alexander Flucas, and Sophie Flucas.
Throughout his life, Flucas served as a social worker, vice principal and principal in various school districts in and around the Twin Cities. Most recently, he was working at Canopy Roots as an emergency mental health responder.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in geography and cartography from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1991. While attending SIUE, Flucas was a student-athlete and was later inducted in the wrestling hall of fame for his team accomplishments from 1987-88.
Flucas earned a master’s degree in social work from from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2000. He went on to gain his K-12 principal license from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2008 and superintendent license from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2021. At the time of his death, Flucas was working toward a counseling psychology doctorate at St. Thomas.
A memorial gathering will be held May 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 601 E. 2nd St. in Waconia.
