John Ireland History Research Paper prize winners announced
Congratulations to the winners of the John Ireland History Research Paper contest. Each receives $100:
- Calvin Hoffman, for his seminar paper, “Misplaced Loyalties: Copperheads and the War of Rebellion”
- Vincent Grabowski, for his upper-level paper, “Patriot to Loyalist: The Motives of Benedict Arnold”
The History Department thanks all of the participants for their papers; 20 were submitted, which gave the readers a real challenge in determining the top awards for the competition. A sincere thank you also is extended to the readers, Dr. Tom Mega and Dr. David Foote of the History Department and Dr. William Kinney, Sociology and Criminal Justice Department.
