KSTP-TV political reporter Tom Hauser to speak Nov. 7
Tom Hauser, longtime KSTP-TV political reporter and host of the station's "At Issue" public affairs program, will be the November speaker in the University of St. Thomas Alumni Association's First Friday Speaker Series.
Hauser, a 1983 St. Thomas alumnus, likely will share some observations about this year's elections at the event, from noon to 1:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, 40 Power St., Minneapolis.
A free shuttle will depart at 11:30 a.m. from St. Thomas' Minneapolis campus on the corner of Harmon Place and 10th Street. The shuttle will return to St. Thomas after the luncheon.
Hauser, who has degrees in political science as well as journalism, began his reporting career in Austin, Minn.; Fort Myers, Fla., and Des Moines, Iowa, before coming home to Minnesota and KSTP in 1992.
On first Fridays of each month during the academic year, the St. Thomas Alumni Association's First Friday Speaker Series offers lunch and a speaker of current interest. St. Thomas alumni and friends, along with the general public, are invited. Cost of each luncheon and presentation is $25. A limited number of $10 tickets are available to UST students at the St. Thomas Box Office.
Reservations for the Nov. 7 luncheon are due Friday, Oct. 31. Early reservations are recommended as these events fill quickly. For reservations and more information, call the St. Thomas Alumni Association, (651) 962-6430, or register online at the association’s Web site, www.stthomas.edu/alumni.
