Thinking about signing up as a St. Thomas volunteer at the Minnesota State Fair? Register today as only a few volunteer slots remain.
Volunteers work at UST's booth in the Education Building, where they speak with potential students, parents, alumni and other fair-goers; meet fellow volunteers from St. Thomas; and hand out the well-known purple bags. All volunteers receive an admission ticket to the fair, and Labor Day weekend volunteers receive two extra tickets.
This year’s fair starts on Thursday, Aug. 26, and ends on Monday, Sept. 6. Shifts run for three hours and start at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Five people are assigned to each shift. Faculty, staff, students and alumni are welcome to volunteer.
Employees who wish to volunteer at the booth during their regular work hours must obtain supervisor approval prior to signing up for a shift. Hourly employees may sign up for one three-hour shift during their regular work hours and will be paid the three hours at the booth plus one additional hour to compensate for travel.
Register here for a shift.
