Student Legacy Program Welcomes Catholic Charities CEO Tim Marx

The Student Legacy Program Speaker Series is a yearlong program that features philanthropists and development professionals speaking on the subject of philanthropy. The program returns this week with a new guest, conversation and pizza.

Tim Marx

Tim Marx, from Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, will speak at 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 24, in Room 238, Anderson Student Center. He will talk about his work as CEO of Catholic Charities. This nonprofit organization works to strengthen families and end poverty and homelessness in the Twin Cities. With programs for children, families and adults most in need, Catholic Charities helps 37,000 people annually, regardless of their faith.

All students who are interested in philanthropy and the Student Legacy Program are invited to attend.

Members of the Student Legacy Committee help to increase student awareness of alumni programming and the importance of giving back to the university.

Throughout the year, committee members help plan:

  • “It Takes More Than Tuition” Day
  • Student Legacy Speaker Series
  • Moskalik Society events
  • Tommie Match Day
  • Senior Class Gift
  • Many other fundraising events
