Luann Dummer Center for Women seeks advisory board members
The Luann Dummer Center for Women will have five openings – one for faculty, two for staff (at least one nonexempt) and two for students (one graduate and one undergraduate) – on its advisory board beginning this fall.
The advisory board is comprised of roughly equal numbers of faculty, staff and students and meets approximately three times during the academic year (more if necessary) to assist the director in the development of policy for the center and in other ways that the director may request. The advisory board also serves as the search committee for subsequent directors of the center. There is no set term for regular members of the advisory board, although students serve only until their status changes.
All full-time faculty and staff interested in serving on the advisory board are invited to send a brief statement of interest, including any information on involvement or experience with issues related to women. All students, full- or part-time, interested in serving are invited to send a brief statement of interest, including any information on involvement or experience with issues related to women, along with a letter of recommendation from a UST faculty or staff member. This material should be sent to women's center director Dr. Corrine Carvalho, Mail #4075. The advisory board will review all statements and invite members to join the board.
Expressions of interest should be received no later than Monday, Sept. 18.
For additional information about the women’s center or its advisory board, please feel free to contact Dr. Carvalho or any of the current board members: Dr. Sherry Jordon, Dr. Jill Manske, Dr. Mark Stansbury-O’Donnell or Jeannine Harff.
