Envision 'A Minnesota Without Poverty' at event tonight

Envision "A Minnesota Without Poverty" at an event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, April 15, in the dining hall of the Carondelet Center, 1890 Randolph Ave. (next door to St. Catherine University).

A call to the community to take action to end poverty, the event is co-sponsored by the University of St. Thomas-St. Catherine University School of Social Work's Beta Epsilon chapter of the Phi Alpha social work honor society and the Justice Commission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Consociates.

The evening will feature speakers, live music, student poets, spoken-word performances and refreshments.

Learn how poverty affects marginalized populations, how to access legislative information and what you can you can do to make a difference. "A Minnesota Without Poverty" is a statewide movement to end poverty by 2020.
