Multicultural Student Services names new program manager

Tonia Jones has been named the new program manager for Multicultural Student Services.

Jones recently completed her master's in education degree in higher and post-secondary education from Arizona State University. Her research interests include biracial identity development. She has written and presented on higher education topics such as examining social location and diversity, minority retention, and African American, American Indian and tribal colleges.

Jones also brings experience working with community and campus groups focused on increasing minority retention and academic persistence rates, and providing mentors for underrepresented students.

She has a passion for helping others and has demonstrated this commitment through her service work with groups such as the Thomas J. Pappas School for the Homeless, Girl Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and American Indian reservations. Jones also brings strong experience working with student athletes, particularly men’s and women’s basketball.
