New club seeks to help those with MS, MS Society

A new club is in the works at UST. The club doesn’t have a name yet, but it will focus on helping people with MS and the MS Society with volunteer and fundraising projects.

The National MS Society, Minnesota Chapter, will help support the club's activities. "The club will be what the club members want to make of it," noted Karen Harthorn, club adviser.

Ideas for projects include:

  • Volunteer at MS Society walk- and bike-a-thons
  • Volunteer for MS Society Family Support Programs (Youth Camp, MS Camp, Family Getaway, and Men’s, Women’s and Couple’s Getaway)
  • Participate in fundraising for MS Society walk- and bike-a-thons
  • Initiate unique UST events that will help support the MS Society (dance, golf event, etc.)

The club's kick-off meeting will be noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the Leyden Room, Room 253, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Those interested in the club are asked to R.S.V.P. to Michaela Janssen or Erin Weber; refreshments provided.
