New women faculty, staff recognition celebration is Thursday
The UST community is invited to celebrate with the University Advocates for Women and Equity and the Luann Dummer Center for Women from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the McNeely Hall Great Room, Room 100.

Women faculty and staff who were hired since March 2007 will be introduced and welcomed by the community. The Sister Pat Kowalski Women's Leadership Award also will be presented this year to a faculty member, Dr. Jill Manske, Biology Department.

Sister Pat Kowalski died in May 1999. The Women's Leadership Award is dedicated in memory of her spirit and work. She was director of community partnerships at St. Thomas for seven years. She initiated and facilitated programs and contacts with the broader community. She was a member of the University Committee on Women and was interested in issues concerning women and equality. Each year, the award rotates between faculty, staff and students.
