No members of St. Thomas community were in Haiti Tuesday

A check of all University of St. Thomas academic and service programs found that there were no St. Thomas students, staff or faculty in Haiti when the earthquake struck there Tuesday evening.

During January Term the university has 563 students participating in study-abroad programs. Another 66 students are participating in VISION service programs outside of the United States. While some of those programs are in Latin America, none are in Haiti.

However, if anyone is aware that a member of the St. Thomas community is in Haiti, they are welcome to contact the university's Dean of Students Office, (651) 962-6050.

Members of the St. Thomas community have been remembering Haiti in their prayers at the 7 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. daily Masses in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas. Prayers also will be said at the Sunday, Jan 17, Mass, where a special collection will be taken for relief efforts.
