Nominations accepted until Nov. 17 for 2007 Tommie Award

The Tommie Award (formerly known as the Tommy Award and first presented as the Mr. Tommy award in 1931) is presented annually to a St Thomas senior.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to nominate seniors whose scholarship, leadership and campus involvement make them worthy recipients of the award. Nominees must have senior status, graduate not later than December, 2007 and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75.

Nominations materials are available in the Office of the Dean of Students, Room 101 Murray Herrick Campus Center, or the Campus Life Office, Room 110, Murray Herrick Campus Center. Required nomination materials include a photo to be taken by the university’s Photo Services staff, three completed testimonial statements, a nominee profile, and a signed notification and consent form.

All completed nomination materials must be returned to the Office of the Dean of Students, the Campus Life office, or received by mail at Mail #5041 by no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. No late entries will be accepted.

Preliminary online voting will occur in December. Three finalists will be selected. Final voting will take place in February, 2007. The Tommie Award will be presented on St. Thomas Day, March 3, 2007. The Tommie Award is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs.
