Nominations for Staff Council Appreciation Award are due March 12

The Non-Exempt Staff Council seeks nominations for the Staff Council Appreciation Award. This award annually honors a non-exempt (hourly) staff member who lives and promotes the mission of the University of St. Thomas: “Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to be morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely and work skillfully to advance the common good.”

The UST mission is based on the following seven convictions of the university:

  • Pursuit of truth
  • Academic excellence
  • Faith and reason
  • Dignity
  • Diversity
  • Personal attention
  • Gratitude

Ways in which a non-exempt staff member would live or promote the mission of the university may include, but is not limited to:

  • Actively participates in the UST community
  • Extends a helping or welcoming hand to other St. Thomas community members
  • Engages in volunteer involvement beyond the job, within or outside St. Thomas
  • Contributes to a positive environment and culture at UST

To nominate a non-exempt staff member for the Staff Council Appreciation Award, submit a one-page statement explaining how the nominee exemplifies the UST mission and has made significant contributions to the St. Thomas community.

In addition to the statement, the nominator should include the following information for their nominee and for themselves:

  • Name
  • Department
  • Mail number
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number

Send your nomination to the Non-Exempt Staff Council at Mail 4221 or e-mail it to the Staff Council.

The deadline for Staff Council Appreciation Award nominations is 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 12. The recipient of the Staff Council Appreciation Award will be recognized at the Staff Appreciation Breakfast on Tuesday, April 17.
