The University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business is launching a new Web page and advertising campaign to encourage people to join in thought-provoking discussions and debates on questions that are frequently asked, but rarely addressed.
“It’s our job to educate and inspire the next generation of leaders,” said Carleen Kerttula, director of program innovation at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. “To do that, we need to think broadly and lead meaningful conversations about pressing business issues in order to stay competitive in today’s workforce.” Kerttula adds that one of the most-searched online topics related to M.B.A.s is about the value of the degree.
The Find Your Answer initiative is part of the school’s new call to action: one that fosters diverse perspectives and divergent views while focusing on practical, forward-thinking approaches to management challenges.
The Opus College of Business will pose provocative questions via banner advertising and asks that prospective students, current students, business leaders and others join the conversation and share their views online.
Participants also can follow and join conversations on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media sites by using the hashtag #findyouranswer.
“It’s all about innovation and leadership,” said Stefanie Lenway, dean of the Opus College of Business. “As we move to a networked economy that thrives on fierce conversations and authentic relationships, our Find Your Answer forum will engage future business leaders in an influential exchange of ideas.”
To keep the debate fresh and engaging, the Opus College of Business will pose a variety of intriguing topics, including whether companies benefit from diversity and if businesses are entitled to collect private data. Questions are selected based on primary and secondary research conducted in 2014, including surveys of students who are considering an advanced business degree.
In recent years, the Opus College of Business has earned recognition for sponsoring events such as the Diversity in Business awards, Fast 50 awards and Ignite Minneapolis, and for hosting a forum on workplace inclusion.
