Approximately 1,350 new first-year students are expected to join the St. Thomas community during Summer Orientation and Registration, more commonly known as O&R. Staff members in the Dean of Students Office and Academic Counseling have been working all year to organize the program, and they rely on the support of the entire campus in greeting the university’s newest community members.
Dates for first-year student and family orientation sessions are: July 11, 13, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29. The tentative program schedule is available on the orientation website. Invitations will be sent to new first-year students and their families this week.
St. Thomas also greets many incoming transfer students on Aug. 24 and Sept. 2, and incoming international students from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. Many campus departments participate in the various presentations, tours and fairs that occur throughout July and into the fall, and the offices of the Dean of Students and Academic Counseling value their support.
