Pedestrian safety: Watch your step!
From the Office of Public Safety
The St. Thomas Office of Public Safety strongly encourages people who use the Summit Avenue pedestrian median to watch their steps.
We’ve noticed recently that larger groups of students have crossed against the light, creating an unsafe situation for pedestrians and drivers alike. Please be mindful of your safety and respect the rights of drivers by using the pedestrian path, crossing at the corners, and obeying the traffic signals at all times.
Here’s a hint: if you press the pedestrian crossing button, you ensure that you’ll get a green “walk” sign and you’ll have a little more time to cross the street.
Thank you for your cooperation. We want to help you avoid accidents and injuries at the Cretin-Summit corner – as well as elsewhere on and off campus!
