Please keep in your prayers Gauthier Biyanga Mubwa, a second-semester St. Thomas student who collapsed during a program at Scooter's in Murray-Herrick Campus Center here Friday evening.
Gauthier, 21, was transported to Regions Hospital where he is in critical but stable condition.
A native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gauthier is majoring in international business and is a student worker in the Grill. He studied at the ELS Language Center at St. Thomas prior to enrolling as an undergraduate student in spring semester 2009.
A gathering of his friends will be held at 7 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 19, in Room 304 (third-floor lounge) of Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Attending the gathering will be staff members from Personal Counseling, Residence Life, Campus Ministry and International Student Services. The gathering will include updates on Gauthier's condition and an opportunity for prayers.
