Frank Coglitore and Janice Raffield, Opus College of Business (Accounting Department), and Dr. Lorman Lundsten, Opus College of Business (Marketing Department), will have their article, “Alternate Work Arrangements and Career Progression in Public Accounting,” published in a forthcoming edition of the Journal of Business Disciplines.
Students Heather Schommer and Jenny Le, with Dr. Ellen Kennedy of the University of Minnesota, spoke about the Genocide Intervention Network at the annual meeting of the Sociologists of Minnesota at the University of Minnesota. Schommer and Le will be involved in state-level activities for the organization in October. Additionally, Schommer has arranged a free, interactive exhibit, “Camp Darfur,” to be shown on the Minnesota State Capitol Mall on Oct. 13.
Dr. Vanca Schrunk, College of Arts and Sciences (History Department), with her sister, Vlasta Begovic of the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb, Croatia, is the author of a book, The Brioni Islands: Past, Architecture and Cultural Heritage, published by Golden Marketing- Tehnicka Knjiga. Schrunk and her sister also collaborated on a geophysical survey project of a Roman villa on the island of St. Clement in the Adriatic Sea. The project was supported by a grant from the Archaeocommunity Foundation awarded to Schrunk last spring.
Father David Smith, College of Arts and Sciences (Theology Department), was awarded the 2007 Outstanding Contribution to Peace Award Sept. 29 at the annual national conference of the Peace and Justice Studies Association at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pa.
Dr. Lisa Waldner, College of Arts and Sciences (Sociology and Criminal Justice Department), co-presented “The Framing of Love and Hate in the White Separatist Movement” at the annual meetings of the American Sociological Association in August in New York City.
