Dr. Aju Fenn, Economics Department, is the author of an article, "Cigarettes and Addiction Information: New Evidence in Support of the Rational Addiction Model," published in Economics Letters (Vol. 72, No. 1, pages 39-45). He also attended and served as a discussant at the Missouri Valley Economics Association meetings in February, when two of his papers were presented: The Dollar Value of Purple Pride: The Existence Value of the Minnesota Vikings" and "A Role for Rational Expectations in Contingent Valuation Survey Response Analysis." The papers' co-author was Dr. John Crooker of Texas Tech University. Fenn also attended the Midwest Economics Association meetings in March, when he presented a paper, "The Value of Concealing Cigarette Addiction Information."

Dr. Ellen Kennedy, Marketing Department, participated in "Women of the Book: Jewish Artists, Jewish Themes," a multi-event program sponsored by the Minnesota Center for Books Arts and the Minneapolis Jewish Community Center. Kennedy, who has published several essays on a variety of Jewish themes, read excerpts at "Herstories," an evening of writers' readings May 10.

Dr. Mitchell Kusy, Organization Learning and Development Department, gave the keynote address, "How to Stop Seven Outmoded Leadership Practices to Restart Your Future," at the annual conference of the Minnesota Health Information Management Association May 2.

Dr. Shirley Polejewski, Accounting Department, received the Distinguish Alumna award at the University of Great Falls (Mont.) at commencement exercises there recently. She addressed the 144 graduates on "The Value of a Liberal Arts Education."

Dr. Susan Webster, Art History Department, presented a paper, "A Major Confraternity Commission in Colonial Quito, Ecuador," at the International Congress of the Medieval Studies Association in Kalamazoo, Mich.
