Public Safety Alert: Students' Off-campus Residence Burglarized

Public Safety would like to alert the University of St. Thomas community of a burglary near Cleveland and Princeton Avenues.

At approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, a UST student reported his residence near the intersection was burglarized. The student woke and saw a flashlight and heard footsteps moving around the residence. After the suspects left the house, the student woke his roommates and contacted the St. Paul Police Department. Multiple pieces of personal property were stolen. The students determined access was gained when the suspects cut a screen and opened a window by the back door of the house.

The students were later contacted by SPPD, who reported that three suspects in a stolen vehicle had been stopped by SPPD. One of the suspects was apprehended, but two others were able to flee. The students’ property was recovered from the vehicle.
