Public Safety posts alert on aggravated robbery, aggravated assault near campus

The University of St. Thomas Department of Public Safety has issued an alert regarding  an aggravated robbery and aggravated assault that occurred Tuesday, June 15, near the St. Paul campus.

At 11:05 p.m., a man not affiliated with St. Thomas reported to the St. Paul Police Department that he was robbed and assaulted near Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard. He told police that he was approached by three people who, without provocation, knocked him to the ground and assaulted and robbed him of personal property, including car keys, cell phone and wallet. The victim later was treated at a hospital.

While the police investigation is ongoing, one juvenile male and one adult male have been apprehended and are in custody for aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. Police believe the third remaining suspect has been positively identified.
