Ron James, president and CEO of the Center for Ethical Business Cultures at the University of St. Thomas, was honored at the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics second Annual International Compliance Awards. The awards recognize leaders in the compliance field who display professional integrity and, by doing so, strengthen their profession.
Prior to joining the Center for Ethical Business Cultures, James was president and CEO of Human Resources Group, a division of Ceridian Corp. He also served as Minnesota's top executive officer at US West Communications Inc. He teaches business ethics for graduate programs at the University of St. Thomas. He also sits on many boards, including Best Buy Corp., Allina Hospital and Clinics, and the Greater Twin Cities United Way. He has served on the advisory group of the United States Sentencing Commission with a task of reviewing the 10-year Federal Sentencing Guidelines that apply to organizations, and he participated in President Bush's economic forum focusing on corporate responsibility and restoring trust and integrity into the American business system.
