Professor Bernhard Swoboda, head of the Department of Marketing at the University of Trier, Germany, visited the University of St. Thomas Department of Marketing from August through early October to collaborate with St. Thomas marketing faculty. He also gave guest lectures in selected business courses and the Opus College of Business research seminar series.

Swoboda's research in the area of retailing, consumer behavior and international management has been published in more than 200 journal publications, and his consulting projects include major German and U.S. firms such as Karstadt, SAP and Goodyear.

The University of Trier is a comprehensive university founded in 1473. It is located in the four-country region of Germany, France, Luxemburg and Belgium. With more than 11,000 students, the university focuses its education and research on European-related topics.
