Three people with St. Thomas connections were named to Ethisphere’s list of 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics 2008. Jim Mitchell, an executive fellow at the Center for Ethical Business Cultures, was recognized for founding the MitchellForum on ethical leadership in financial services. “Never has it been more relevant than in 2008,” said the magazine’s editors.
Harry Holloran was nominated for his $10 million donation to St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business for the SAIP (Self-Assessment and Improvement Process) Institute and Center for Ethical Business Cultures.
Patricia Werhane is professor of business ethics at the University of Virginia, and chair of business ethics and director of the Institute for Business and Professional Ethics at DePaul University. She was recognized for promoting business ethics education at DePaul University, as well as for her significant influence in the field of business ethics. Werhane is one of four core authors for the CEBC History of Corporate Responsibilityproject.
